If you are interested in a KTM Pro Junior 50cc auto race bike
you might want to consider some of the following options.
We have stocked KTM bikes in the past, but
not since the factory discontinued the Pro Junior from the
model range.
What are the
alternatives? Check out the following guide to see what other bike fits your
criteria best. Even better, give us a ring on 01386 701162 & ask
us for advice
PRICE –
If your reason for considering a KTM was
that it is competitive at an affordable price, with the
DB Magnum the price is under £1,000.
POWER –
The Pro Junior factory quoted power is 8.5bhp (approx), raised to 11bhp with a 21mm carb. If you want more power, the POLINI X1 produce 12.6bhp in liquid cooled form. The
LEM R2 & R3 produce 11bhp in air cooled ready to
race form, as does the DB Magnum. If you
wanted to limit the power for a novice rider, a smaller carb will do the job for
under £100.
SEAT HEIGHT –
Seat height is a big thing to help boost a young rider's
confidence, and so matching the correct seat height is sometimes more important
than outright power. The KTM had 58.5 to 61cm seat height (adjustable),
LEM R2 60.5cm, R3 67.5cm, Polini X1 61cm, X3 72cm and
DB Magnum 67cm
EXTRA POWER –
If your rider is maxing the bike
out, extra power & tune up bolt on bits are a must, but what’s available to give
them that edge?
